The largest body of work consists of more than 270 book covers for Beletrina, the hardback literary imprint of the major Slovene book publisher Beletrina Academic Press. I won a public competition to rebrand the imprint (Nov 2006). The series was given an Award of Excellence at the 4th Biennial of Slovene Visual Communication (2009), presented by the Brumen Foundation at the National Gallery of Slovenia. The series was also given the Highest Funding Award for Illustration by The Slovenian Association of Fine Arts Societies (ZDSLU) (2010).
An immediately recognisable brand in bookshops, it is defined by a central stripe of a single colour with separate but unified design elements above and below. The artwork encompasses the entire jacket as a personal response to the content. The whole collection is uniform in style, but at the same time, every book is visually distinct. Each cover required a different approach to methods and materials, depending on the content of the book.
The high-impact brand was associated with a large increase in sales. Čefurji raus! by Goran Vojnović, for instance, reached its 10th edition with over 15k copies sold and 8 translations including English (2017), making it not only the publisher's best seller of all time but also the most successful book in the Slovene language in recent history.

I have collaborated with Andreja on more than 300 book projects, and I have to say that I admire her passion for design and deep commitment to every single project, which includes very thorough study and research in order to create design that reflects all requirements, and sometimes also the impossible wishes and visions of the client. Although there were quite a few very tight deadlines, all materials were always produced according to schedule.

Andreja shows great creative potential, using an interesting mixture of techniques. She has developed her own distinctive style, which on the one hand has a strong effect on the visibility of Beletrina as a recognisable brand on bookshelves, while on the other hand enables her to uniquely design each cover in the spirit of the content of the literary work.
